Let the Blogging Begin!

I have been inspired by friends I have seen on Facebook that have a family blog. I decided that this is truly the best way for friends and family to keep in touch with each other. The only bad thing is that I also know that I am not very good at keeping up with this on a regular basis, so I have charged that Julie help me with this endeavour. I am truly hoping that between the two of us we will be able to somewhat keep this updated.

Julie and I are getting very excited yet very overwhelmed with a new chapter in our lives. Our goal for the last 3 years was to buy or build a new house in the year 2009. We are now here and so a few weeks ago we started inquiring about houses. This is a very all consuming thing for us and we are very worn out. Last week was the first step in making this a reality. There is a "For Sale" sign in front of our house and tomorrow we will find out if the builder we have chosen will accept our offer. If everything goes the way we hope we will have a new house within 5 months.

This is the house that we are going to build. We are very excited about it because it is the house we are planning on having our kids grow up in. This is the house that we will entertain friends and family in. This is the house that will give us the room we need to get our food storage put together in. Most of all this is the house that we will strengthen our family's testimony and our family bond in.

Julie and I are finding that it is a lot of work to move. Julie has been working her fingers to the bone patching walls, painting, de-cluttering and packing things so the house is ready to sell. I am helping where I can, but I must say that Julie is doing most of the work. The next five months will be filled with stress and anxiety, but I know it will be all worth in the end.
Our family is doing very well. Ethan is turning 8 in March which still blows my mind. He is in 2nd grade and is doing great. He loves to read and play his Nintendo DS and Bakugan. Most of all he is getting very excited about getting baptized. We are so proud of him and love him very much.

Dylan is 5 and is loving kindergarten. He is doing very well with all of his sight words. Julie has worked very hard at making sure he practices (most of the time against his will) and it is paying off. He passed off all his words and now helps his teacher with the other kids in his class. He loves to play with Ethan and once you get him talking he won't stop. We love how funny he is and love him very much too.

The highlight of last year was our trip to Disneyland the week after Christmas. This is our boys enjoying giant turkey legs before the Pixar parade at California Adventure. We had such a good time and definitely loved the weather while we were there. It was really hard coming home to a snow storm.
Julie is doing great. She loves that she does not work anymore, although we all know that taking care of a house and kids is more work than any job out there. She likes that she can take Dylan to school everyday and volunteer at the school to help out Dylan's teacher. Julie loves being with her family.
I am currently working at New Horizons Computer Learning Center of Utah. I am the Sales Manager and love the work I do. It is definitely tough in this economy, but I know that as long as I am living right I will be taken care of. I love being with my family. I know that I am so blessed and I try to count my blessings often.
This is a great time to be alive and I am glad that I have a wonderful family to share it with!
